A new Gallup survey found that 46 percent of Americans think the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, will hurt the economy. The same poll found that only 37 percent think the law will help the economy – among Democrats, 20 percent said the health care law would hurt the economy.

The divide showed that the unpopular law remains divisive despite the fact that the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that its underpinning – the mandate requiring Americans to buy health insurance – is constitutional as “a tax.”

According to the survey, 78 percent of Republicans and 47 percent of independents thought the law would harm the economy while 62 percent of Democrats thought it would help.
