Have you checked your electric bill recently? It probably has a “Smart Meter Charge” on it — whether you have one or not.
Do you want the electric company to monitor your energy consumption. That means they will monitor when you get up, how many people are home, what appliances you use, how often and when you use them, possibly even what television programs you watch?
TEA Party activists have joined the effort to stop Smart meters because of privacy and property rights issues.
Within three years about half of US households — 65 million homes — will have wireless Smart meters installed to replace their old one.
