Action Alert:
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or SAVE America Act has been introduced by US Rep Chip Roy (R-TX). It would
- require proof of citizenship for new voter registrations
- mandate photo IDs for voting in person or obtaining mail-in ballots
- strengthen voter roll maintenance
In Feb 10th the SAVE America Act passed in the US House by a vote of 218-213, with Republicans unanimously voting in favor and being joined by one lone Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas.
It is now in the US Senate.
