From Jenny Beth Martin……
President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” has passed the House and now heads to the Senate. Republican lawmakers worked together to get this important piece of legislation through Congress and we want to thank them for getting it done.
The Left has worked overtime to create the narrative that this bill will rip away rights, leave Americans in turmoil, cause children and the elderly to starve and lose medical care, etc., etc. But as with everything the Left claims, these assertions are all lies.
And while it is not a perfect bill, the fact is, there are some really great policies included. For instance:
✅ Tax Cuts are made Permanent
✅ No Tax on Tips
✅ No Tax on Overtime
✅ REINS Act Included
✅ Border Security and Deportations
✅ Medicaid work requirements
✅ No funding for trans mutilation of minors
So, yes, we know there are pieces of this bill that need some work—look for action items next week, especially regarding the new entitlement/giveaway, “Trump Savings Accounts”—but Speaker Mike Johnson and others did move the ball forward on many of the issues that are important to our movement. That is a good thing.
The Left’s lies could have easily derailed this bill completely and permanently, and their activists are already calling Republicans to shame them and scare them into opposing any future versions of the bill that come back from the Senate. They want President Trump to fail, and as we’ve always discussed, politicians need carrots and sticks. Now is the time for the carrots.
ACTION: Call the United States Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your representative by name. Tell them thank you for voting for the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. It is critical that we not only tell our legislators what we want them to vote for, but also thank them when they do it. Don’t know who your representative is? That’s okay, go to this website and input your zip code, then call the switchboard and ask for your representative by name.
As the bill comes to the Senate, we will have our work cut out for us, but this is a great start!
In liberty,
Jenny Beth Martin
