A coalition of environmental groups issued a scorecard Tuesday rating the voting records of Pa. Senators and Representatives on the issue of Marcellus shale.
The Pa. Sierra Club, Conservation Voters of Pa., Clean Water Action and Penn Environment issued the ratings, based on the long and winding road that was HB 1950 – the state’s overhaul of Marcellus shale drilling regulations and local impact fee. A vote in favor of the legislation was scored negatively.
“When voters head to the polls this year, they should know how their legislators handled the Marcellus Shale, the biggest environmental issue facing Pennsylvania. Combined, we expect our organizations will distribute this scorecard to more than a quarter million Pennsylvania citizens and give every voter online access to this data,” said Josh McNeil of Conservation Voters of PA in a press release.
