As if the GOP and ObamaCare opponents did not warn Americans enough: news has leaked that ObamaCare will result in at least a $63-per-person fee for employers and companies alike. This is the additional cost to employers to cover employees with pre-existing conditions.
Right on cue, the Obama administration pointed out that the fee will decrease over time and is supposed to cushion companies with employees with pre-existing conditions. The money will go to the Health and Human Services Department, or HHS, which is run by Kathleen Sebelius.
Even to number crunchers, this new fee was surprising to many. ”This kind of came out of the blue and was a surprisingly large amount,” said Gretchen Young, senior vice president for health policy at the ERISA Industry Committee, a group that represents large employers on benefits issues.
